Unplug! Parents Modeling Healthy Digital Behavior

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

These days we’re hyperconnected thanks to mobile devices that make it easier than ever to keep up with work, social networks, and each other while on the go. But at what point do you say enough is enough? There is a growing trend towards taking a digital Sabbath and unplugging to reconnect with ourselves and our families. This idea can strike fear in the minds of families who rely on devices to stay in constant communication with each other in the course of a day. How do you balance connectivity to stay in touch with each other virtually while ensuring that you’re getting enough face time?
Through this session, we will:
  • Explore the relationships we have with our devices
  • Discuss how we can use devices effectively, responsibly, while modeling appropriate use to achieve digital wellness
  • Provide parents with the opportunity to evaluate their technology use in their homes to determine how much time should be spent plugged in and unplugged based on their needs
